Cordi O’Hara FEI

Cordi O’Hara became president of National Grid in Massachusetts, effective from 21st August 2017.   Cordi has more than 20 years’ experience in the energy industry, the last four at National Grid, where she most recently oversaw strategy, planning and operation of over 14,000 miles of gas and electricity networks in Great Britain.

Cordi has managed relationships with government officials and regulators and has overseen efforts to improve the customer experience across the National Grid businesses in the United States and the United Kingdom.  She has advocated for innovative solutions to a decarbonised energy market, including additional renewable generation and new demand response initiatives.    

Prior to joining National Grid, Cordi worked for Centrica, an energy retailer, in a variety of commercial and operational roles, including serving 11 million customer accounts in the United Kingdom.

Cordi is a fellow of the UK Energy Institute and serves as an ambassador for POWERful Women, a programme advocating for increased participation of women in the energy sector.   She participates in Employability, a programme supporting internships for students with special needs.   She chairs Women in National Grid, which promotes greater gender diversity.

Cordi has an undergraduate degree in law from the University of Manchester.    Married with two children, she and her family relocated to Eastern Massachusetts.
