Wairimu Karanja, Founder and Director, EnVantage Law, Kenya


Wairimu Karanja is Founder and Director of EnVantage Law, a legal advisory company providing legal, investment and policy advice in corporate, energy and natural resources (ENR), and trade matters across Eastern Africa. She is also finalising a Masters in Energy Law and Policy (LLM) at the University of Dundee’s Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP).  Prior to this, Wairimu was a Director at JMiles & Co., an international arbitration and investment advisory firm in Nairobi, Kenya.
Wairimu has over 10 years’ legal experience in energy and natural resources, infrastructure development, private equity, mergers and acquisitions and transactional work, corporate law, employment and immigration  law, IP law, legislative and policy research, and international arbitration in investment and commercial transactions. She has organised and spoken in conferences on investment and international disputes, and has contributed to books and publications on ENR, international dispute resolution, and investment in Africa.
Wairimu is a member of The Law Society of Kenya, Women in African Power (a Power Africa Initiative), and Women and Business Women for Africa (LABFA).  Wairimu is also involved in pro-bono advisory in sustainable development and training of young professionals.
